Arguably one of the most famous and beloved Peonies in the world, 'Sarah Bernhardt' produces enormous, fully double, apple-blossom pink flowers with a heavenly fragrance. The tightly packed petals occasionally feature delicate, crimson-flecked edges, offering a romantic, vintage charm that is unmatched in the herbaceous border.

Like all peonies, it requires patience to establish, but will reward you for decades if planted correctly in a sunny spot with rich, well-drained soil. Because the massive, heavily petaled blooms become incredibly heavy when wet, sturdy staking is absolutely essential to prevent the plant from collapsing under its own weight.
