Produktbeschreibung
Coreopsis Ladybird is a highly compact, short-lived perennial tickseed that produces an unbelievably abundant, smothering display of deep red, daisy-like blooms. It forms a tight, brilliantly structured mound of fine green foliage that looks exceptionally neat at the front of the bed, acting as the ultimate, highly stable landing pad for feeding butterflies during the peak heat.
This rugged prairie native absolutely demands full sun and sharp, sandy drainage, and it will rapidly rot if forced into heavy, compacted clay. Once established, it becomes incredibly drought-tolerant and actively resents being pampered with a hose. To stop this prolific sprinter from flowering itself to death, you must shear the entire plant back brutally by a third in late summer to force life-saving basal growth before the cold weather hits.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Profi-Tipp
To maximise the lifespan of this short-lived perennial, shear Coreopsis Ladybird back by a third after the main flush of blooms. This brutal haircut stops the plant from exhausting itself through over-flowering and encourages strong basal growth. Dividing the clump every second year is the absolute best way to keep it youthful and vigorously producing deep red blooms.
Richtig gießen
Give Coreopsis Ladybird a comprehensive drenching on its first day in the ground to collapse any dangerous air voids. Once fully established, this tickseed becomes incredibly drought tolerant and resents being constantly pampered with a watering can. Allow the soil to dry out thoroughly before you even consider offering another drink.
Richtig pflanzen
Plant Coreopsis Ladybird in a location that receives full, unobstructed sun and boasts excellent, sandy drainage. Work the soil loosely before planting, as it will rot instantly if forced into heavy, compacted clay. Settle the root ball exactly to the depth of its original nursery pot to prevent devastating crown rot.
