Syringa ‘Miss Kim’ is a deciduous, bushy shrub with dark green wavy-edged leaves and mid spring / early summer clusters abundant in sweet smelling pale purple flowers. With its colour-changing foliage that turns a beautiful array of reds and scarlets in autumn, this small lilac bush provides interest across three seasons.
RHS Award of Garden Merit award holder and recognised for its qualities amongst reliability, performance and resilience, the Manchurian Lilac will require little maintenance and is resistant to powdery mildew. Popular dwarf lilac variety with a slow growing rate, making it ideal for more compact spaces and easily manageable.

Prune Syringa after flowering to maintain shape and promote more blooms. Remove dead or damaged branches and cut back the oldest wood to encourage new growth.

Water Syringa plants regularly during the first year to establish deep roots. Once established, water during dry periods, but avoid overwatering. Allow the soil to dry between waterings. Syringa prefers well-drained, slightly dry conditions.

Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and the same depth. Place the plant in the hole, backfill with soil, and firm gently. Water thoroughly after planting. Space plants 120-180cm apart to allow for growth.
